Master's Message children's class discussion topic of the week.
"I intend to use what I learn in class constructively and defensively to help myself and others..."
Can anyone tell me what that means?
Constructively: This means that we will use our martial arts techniques and knowledge to improve our lives and to help or teach other people how to improve their lives.
Defensively: This means that we will only use martial arts to defend ourselves and others if we are attacked, and we must not use it to start trouble or bully others.
"...and never to be abusive or offensive".
Can anyone tell me what that means?
As a student of Cobra Martial Arts, you are a representative of Sensei and the school of Cobra at all times, even when you are not at Cobra, such as when you are at school or the shops.
You should not use martial arts to bully, scare, or attack others, as it is for defence only.
You must not be rude or abusive to others, such as rude to kids at school or your teachers. If you are rude, people will assume that we taught you that behavior at Cobra and will phone Cobra to speak to Sensei about it.
Remember, a true martial artist is a 'living example' of the 9 Tenets and they teach and lead people by their example.
