2. Integrity

Master's Message children's class discussion topic of the week.

Integrity is the second of the nine tenets of Cobra Martial Arts.

It is, 'Doing the right thing, even when no one is looking'.

Integrity is being strong enough to do the right thing, even when it is difficult, or when your friends are doing the wrong thing, or they use peer pressure and tell you to do the wrong thing.

Some examples of integrity are:

Honesty

Keeping promises

Respecting others

Being ready for school and martial arts class on time

Not gossiping or speaking nastily about others even under peer pressure (peer pressure is another class discussion topic we will cover soon)

Being helpful at home such as doing your chores Helping people in need

Can anyone give me another example of integrity or when they or someone else showed integrity?

Class Drill:

The Caterpillar:

Students get into teams of 5 – 10 and stand in a line facing the back of the person in who is in front of them. Everybody stands in horse stance and the person at the back must crawl under everyone’s legs until they get to the front of the line, where they will stand in horse stance. As soon as they crawl through and are in horse stance the next person from the back of the line has their turn of crawling through, until the ‘caterpillar’ has made it over the finish line.

Benefits: Teamwork, commando crawls for core and upper body strength and fitness, leg strength from holding horse stance.
